PURPOSE:To stabilize operation of an inverter circuit by connecting a discharge lamp via a choke coil between the output terminals of the inverter circuit, and connecting a capacitor between the choke coil and the junction of two diodes. CONSTITUTION:Diodes 15, 16 are turned on and off to perform chopper-like motions, and the energy of a choke coil 21 constituting an inverter circuit 19 is superposed over a smoothing capacitor 17 in terms of high frequency. Electric charges accumulated in a capacitor 14 are released and superposed over the smoothing capacitor 17 in terms of high frequency. Electric charges accumulated in another capacitor 27 are released and superposed over the smoothing capacitor 17. To capacitors 14, 24, 27, therefore, a charging current corresponding to the supply voltage flows from an AC power supply 11 with switching motions of a transistor 20 provided in the inverter circuit 19. The capacitor 14 and choke coil 13 presents a filtrating effect to cut the odd number high frequency components. |
