PURPOSE:To improve the performance of long-period prediction when section length is long by performing the long-period prediction of a speech in consideration of the long-period prediction delay in a long-period prediction section as to the long-period prediction device of a speech encoding device for a digital mobile communication, etc. CONSTITUTION:When the input residue signal of the speech is divided into constant sections and a long-period predictor 1 performs the long-period prediction of certain long-period prediction delay, section by section, the section is divided into two front and rear parts to handle variation in the long-period prediction delay in the section and a difference in long-period prediction delay is provided between the front and rear divided sections to perform the long- period prediction. Then a prediction error minimizing unit 2 determines long- period prediction delay and a long-period prediction delay difference which minimize the sum of squares of the prediction error between the long-period prediction signal obtained by the long-period predictor 1 and the input residue signal, and outputs the current long-period prediction signal. |
