Locking system for plate deep-freeze, consisting of rules, arranged between the plates and on which ramps are formed interacting with ramps provided on the plates, so that longitudinal movement of the rules with respect to the plates causes a vertical movement of the rules, altering the separation of the plates. In order to avoid the rules being blocked by ice and to allow easy and accurate adjustment of the spacing between the plates, the locking system which is the subject of the invention is characterised in that the rules (12) are suspended from the plates (10) by support blocks (16), and their upper edge is fitted with teeth (20) of sawtooth shape, and in that the plates bear on the rules via heels (22) in which a notch is cut out, the inclined base of which constitutes a ramp having the same slope as the teeth of the rules, each heel receiving, in a respective notch, one tooth of one rule. <IMAGE>
