A small centrifugal force transducer performs continuous measurements in a horizontal plane at right angles to the direction of travel. Its readings are entered into a computer which reduces the torque on the driven wheels if a predetermined value of centrifugal force is exceeded. Measurements can be made also on steering wheel position, road speed and surface moisture, and tyre profile and quality. Speed may be reduced by fuel supply limitation or declutching. ADVANTAGE - Safety enhanced with driver enabled to negotiate curve entered at excessive speed.
