The unpressurised heat exchanger has a container, with a waste water intake and a lower discharge. The container has a baffle wall near the intake, and a dividing wall above the base. Before feeding into the container (1), the waste water is separated into cold and warm parts, by two intake tubes (9,10) the lower end of a fall pipe (8). Baffle wall (11) and dividing guide wall (42,43,44) prevent mixing of these water parts. The warmer water is supplied via an intake (14) to the top container section (12), which contains the pipe coils (15). The colder part is supplied to the lower container sections (13).
