The d.c. generator, e.g. solar cells, are decoupled by at least one diode (D7). The current from a wind driven alternator, or three-phase generator is connected to a nodal point via a rectifier (D1-D6). The system uses a parallel control with a variable shunt of a transistor (T1), resistor (R1), capacitor (C1) and a diode (D8). The transistor and the resistor are in series, but in parallel to the nodal point of the two generator types. They are energised by an electronic circuit in a pulse width modulated or analogue manner. USE/ADVANTAGE - For combined battery charger etc., with increased precision and reduced noise. Includes overcharge and over discharge protection and r.p.m. display for rotation of wind generator blades.
