The mainly vertical fixed tube of a bicycle frame has a turnable, height-adjustable top tube, to hold the handlebars, and a lower tube, for the front forks. The tubes are pushed into each other, and connected non-turnably by a clamp. This is operated by a clamp screw in the top tube. There is a clamp sleeve (20) of spring steel with a continuous slot (21). This extends the top tube (12), and is inserted into the bottom tube. The sleeve has a top taper face (22), engaging on a similar face (14) of the top tube. ADVANTAGE - Releasable clamped connection with optimum safety during use.
