The actuation mechanism is for the inlet and outlet valves of an IC engine. It consists of a stationary light metal pressure cast housing (1) and an axially-radially movable cam-like bearing (3). The actuation shaft (13) for altering the valve actuation times is so shaped that an axially movable spring loaded pin (7) provides and effects the frictional force connection between the valve bolts (9) and the actuation cams (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - Valve mechanism for IC engine is capable of being matched to various states of engine wear and has parts which can be recycled.
