<p>This resonant power supply produces a cyclically varying magnetic field from a resonant inductor (10b). Two active switches (18b, 18b') drive, but remain outside, a resonant circuit (11b) also including resonant capacitor (13b). Phase-splitting transformer (14) provides one connection via a decoupling inductor (12b) to a power supply (15b); the return is through the active switches, which are off or are driven alternately by the controller (19b) so as to maintain the resonant current in (11b). Applications include induction heating and induction hobs for cooking, and a power source for inductively powered vehicles (or other remote inductive power consumers) adjacent to an inductively powered track (10d).</p> |
