An environmentally safe process and medium are disclosed for consolidating materials, in particular loose, possibly very aqueous soils. The disclosed medium is characterized in that it contains as a builder precursor alkoxysilane and/or aluminium alcoholates, and, in an amount of 0.1 - 15 % by weight of the builder precursor boric acid, its esters, phosphorous pentoxide, water-free phosphoric acid, its esters, esters, the aryloxides or alkoxides of transition metals, as builder-modifier precursors if required. In additon, the medium contains 0.001 - 10 % by weight, with respect to the total weight of the medium, of alkali metal oxides, hydroxides, alcoholates, as hydrolysis catalysts, 0.001 - 2 % by weight of anorganic salts or alcoholates of multivalent metals, preferably calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, as well as if necessary organic solvants, preferably alcohols, esters, ketones, ketone esters, where the solid content of the solution amounts to at least 10 % by weight. When the process is implemented, at least 0.10 m<3> of the disclosed medium per m<3> of material to be consolidated is injected into the material. |
