<p>A portable electric cutting and scoring saw (10) for use on laminated or venner products (78, 80), is disclosed. The scoring saw (14) is disposed in front of the cutting saw (12) and turns in the opposite direction (82 and 84). The saw includes a housing (62) with a front handle (54) and a rear handle (56) with a trigger switch (66). The housing is attached to a base plate (58) and contains a drive motor which through two gears (20, 26), drives a cutting saw shaft (28) and blade (12); and through two additional gears (34, 42), drives a scoring saw shaft (44) and blade (14); saw guard (60) protects against the scoring and cutting blades (14, 12). In another embodiment, the housing is attached to the base plate (58) through two brackets (106, 130) which allow for an angle of cut adjustment. Additional features (100) are provided for a depth adjustment. Different embodiments allow for use of electric motors changing the motor size (110), use of helical gears, conical teeth (126) on the scoring blade, and a battery power-pak for a cordless version (134).</p> |
