A novel automatic tree and/or plant waterer is provided herein. It is adapted to be connected to a stand which holds a tree, e.g. a Christmas tree, in an upright position. The waterer includes a hollow base and a hollow body section. Means are provided for locking the hollow base in a water tight sealed manner to the hollow body section. A cover is selectively secured to the hollow body section in an airtight manner. A water outlet is provided from the interior of the body section. A flow controller unit is provided from the interior of the body section to the flexible hose in order to allow for easy filling and refilling of the interior of the body section. A flexible hose is adapted to be connected between the water outlet of the hollow body section and the stand which holds the tree. Once the flow of water is commenced, a cyclic automatic flow of water ensues. The water will not flow unless air is allowed to enter through the tube. Thus, when the end of the tube is submerged in water, no water can flow.
