Control linkage for throttle closure in IC engine fuel system - has main return spring coupled to compound linkage with release of redundant spring if first spring fails
摘要
The control linkage for operating the throttle of an IC engine fuel system has a main lever (6) which is pivotably mounted (7) and moved by a cable against a return spring (4) action. The end of the lever has a coupling (8) to a link (9) which operates the throttle plate (2). Located around the throttle link (9) axis is a second return spring (5) which is redundant so long as the main spring is intact. If the main spring fails a pivot mounted lever (14) and a release arm (17) moves to allow the redundant spring to become active and move the throttle to the closed position. ADVANTAGE - Provides failsafe closure of throttle.
