The method of producing photographic images involves using a light beam controllable in position and intensity generated by a cathode ray tube. The CRT screen is sharply focussed on the carrier material using a lens. The screen material afterglow duration, which is long compared to the stimulation time, is used for illumination. The afterglow duration is selected so that a reduction in sensitivity of the light sensitive material does not occur because of reciprocity errors arising for very short illumination times. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates reciprocity errors in light sensitive material and minimises image generation time.
