(A) in a tool with a contact laser probe (1) for laser beam emission, (i) the probe (1) has a working section (12) with a hydroxyl gp. contg. material (13) content such that the probe is heated sufficiently to perform the surgical operation; and (ii) the laser beam is emitted from the probe (1) to effect tissue evapn. and incision. (B) also claimed is a surgical laser tool with a contact laser probe (1) having a working section (12) contg. 0.5-10 ppm of hydroxyl gp contg. material (13). (C) the object treatment process involves (a) preparing a contact laser probe with a hydroxyl gp. material content of 0.5-10 ppm; (b) producing contact between the probe and the object; (c) generating a laser beam with the probe; and (d) irradiating the object with the laser beam to effect evapn. and incision, the probe being heated by absorbed laser radiation to effect haemostasis. ADVANTAGE - The tool has good manipulation characteristics, allows steady and uniform tissue incision and effects haemostasis with excellent reliability.
