<p>In a domestic heating control unit slider 1 has a handle 3 projecting through aperture 7 in housing 6. When slider 1 is moved along channel 8 formed by side walls 10, 11 and back wall 12, engagement between cam surfaces 13 and cross-bar 5 ensure that there are three or more specific rest positions corresponding to appropriate position of contract arm 15 on circuit board 14.
