<p>A developer auger possessing a plurality of flight segments is described for use in a development system of an electrophotographic printing machine. The developer auger comprises a shaft and a first flight portion, mounted on the shaft, wherein the first flight portion comprises at least two flight segments which define a first pitch distance.
