<p>A bicycle exercise stand is disclosed for supporting the drive wheel of a bicycle during stationary pedaling exercise. The exercise stand includes a frame (1) and positioning mechanism (9, 12) provided on the frame (1) for engaging and positioning first hubs of a drive wheel (B). A holding mechanism (15, 18) is provided substantially opposite to the positioning mechanism (9, 12) and is moveable between extended and contracted positions. The holding mechanism (15, 18) is arranged to engage a second hubs of the drive wheel (B) in the extended position to cooperate with the positioning mechanism (9, 12) to rotatably hold the drive wheel (B). A pedal (27) is mounted to a lower portion of the frame (1) and is coupled to holding mechanism (15,18) for moving the holding mechanism (15,18) between the extended and contracted positions. The pedal (27) may be operated by foot in order to make it easy to mount the bicycle on the stand. <IMAGE></p> |
