<p>According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a food dispensing system involving the dispensing of food and / or utensils from a mobile source thereof to a specific location wherein a pair of unit trays (11, 11 min ), are adapted for demountable coupling with one another to provide an extended rigid duplex tray (14) for use at the specific location. The second aspect involves the provision of a containment (31) having two chambers (33, 34) each chamber having means for supporting a plurality of unit (11, 11 min ) or duplex (14) trays according to the first aspect so that the duplex trays or pairs of unconnected unit trays can be readily stored.
