ENDOSCOPE WITH AN ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER

An endoscope, particularly for the examination and treatment of tumours, for example bladder tumours, comprises an optics (12) and an ultrasonic transducer (9) arranged at the distal end for depth extension measurement. The endoscope is characterised in that the radiating surface of the ultrasonic transducer (9) is of circular design and surrounds the distal end of the optics. In this way, not only is the available lumen better utilised, but it is also possible to obtain a clear positional correlation between the visual image and the ultrasonic depth extension measurement.
