PURPOSE:To obtain a method for controlling disease injury of plant, having excellent effects on disease injury of plants, belonging to various kinds of fungi by using a certain bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus as an agricultural and horticultural disease injury controller. CONSTITUTION:Pathogenic fungi of plant belonging to fungi, of which living land or plants damaged by the fungi are treated by using an agent comprising an effective application amount (usually about 0.1-10,000g, preferably about 10-1,000g calculated as wet weight based on 10 ares) of Bacillus subtilis SC-3 (FERM P-11,396) or its variant, especially producing a cyclic peptide-based compound shown by the formula (R is isopropyl or 2-methylbutyl) or an agent comprising the effective application amount of the Bacillus subtilis, an additive and/or a carrier. Preferably seeds of plant are coated with the agent to effectively control disease injury of plant. The bacterium may be added to a microorganism material or a soil improving material. |
