PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having little background fog, good shelf stability of image, and high heat sensitivity by incorporating an electron donative dye precursor and an electron accepting compound shown by a specific general formula. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is obtained by incorporating at least one kind of electron donative dye precursors, such as fluorane compound, and at least one kind of electron accepting compounds shown by a formula I (R1 represents alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; X1 and X2 is H, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or halogen atom; and (m) is an integer 0-2) and a formula II (R2 represents alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, or aryloxy). The electron accepting compound may be used with other phenol derivatives or the like. This thermal recording material can be improved in color forming density to a great extent without deteriorating a shelf stability at an ordinary temperature, therefore having a high sensitivity and little background scumming. |
