PURPOSE:To surely prevent the slip-off and breakage of a rubber ring even if the chamfering work for a pipe insertion port is omitted, by gradually spreading the diameter of the inner periphery of the rubber ring in a pipe receiving port by a tapered part which becomes thinner towards the top edge of an insert installed at the top edge part and inserting the pipe insertion port. CONSTITUTION:An insert A is inserted into a pipe receiving port 2, and the outer surface of the tapered part 11 which becomes thinner towards the top edge of the insert A is brought into contact or set close to the inner peripheral surface of a rubber ring 3. Then, a pipe insertion port 4 is inserted into the insert A, and the top edge 41 of the pipe insertion port 4 is brought into contact with the inner surface of the tapered part 11 which becomes thinner toward the top edge, and the insert A is pushed into the pipe receiving port 2, together with the insertion of the pipe insertion port 4. When the insertion of the pipe insertion port 4 proceeds, and it passes through the rubber ring 3, the insertion of the pipe insertion port 4 is suspended, and the connection work is completed. At this time, the pressing force in the pipe axis direction acting on the rubber ring 3 can be sufficiently reduced, because of the gentle gradient of the tapered part which becomes thinner towards the top edge, and the slip-off of the rubber ring can be prevented. Further, since the top edge of the pipe insertion port 4 can be made to an arbitrary shape, the chamfering of the outer peripheral part at the top edge of the pipe insertion port 4 can be omitted. |
