PURPOSE:To provide a silicon nitride-based sintered body having excellent strength and durability at high temp. and excellent oxidation resistance. CONSTITUTION:This silicon nitride-based sintered body consists of 1-20wt.% (expressed in terms of oxides) one or more kinds of rare earth elements, <=12wt.%, in total, of 0.2-8wt.% (expressed in terms of Cr2O3) Cr and 0.2-8wt.% (expressed in terms of oxides) one or more kinds of auxiliaries selected among Nb, Ta, Mo and W and the balance silicon nitride. |
