PURPOSE:To provide a cushioning member which can be made at a low cost, has an excellent cushioning function, and can be folded into a compact size by a method wherein a main body member and subsidiary member made of a corrugated fiberboard are folded and fitted to form a hollow pillar shape, and the end of an object-to-be-packaged is fitted in the recessed groove and is supported. CONSTITUTION:The cushioning member is constituted of a main body member 100 and a subsidiary member 200 made of a corrugated fiberboard, and between a pair of hollow square pillar bodies 1, 2, which are formed by folding three sets of folding lines in parallel A-F, provided on a set of confronted edge parts of the main body member 100, into a U-shape in the confronted direction, a recessed groove, in which the end part of an object-to-be-packed is fitted, is formed, and the folded shape is fixed. Cuts 5, 8 for standing pieces and folding lines for standing G, H, which form end surface pieces 3, 4 to close both ends of the recessed groove and intermediate supporting pieces 7 to bear and support a spacer, for which the subsidiary member is folded to make the cross section into a U-shape into cut and erected pieces, are made to stride across two lines in parallel C, D, which are adjacent at the central part of the main body member 100, and notches for fitting 11, 12 are provided at locations at which the end surface pieces 3, 4, the intermediate supporting pieces 7 and the hollow square pillar body interfere. |
