PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to manufacture a pad for packing to a different dimensional shape in response to the variation of the thickness dimension of a plate material, and improve the productivity by making the central piece of a U-shaped pad for packing, which protects the end part of a plate material, stretchable by bending the central piece. CONSTITUTION:A pad for packing 10 is made of a U-shaped corrugated fiberboard to protect the end part of a plate material, and is made to be stretchable by bending a central piece 2. This central piece 2 is bent to be formed into an approximate V-shape at a bending part 2a so that the bending part 2a projects to the inner peripheral side of the U-shape, and is respectively connected to a pair of horizontal pieces 3 at the upper and lower ends. The pair of horizontal pieces 3 are plate shaped members with a rectangular flat shape, and have inner surfaces 3a which are mutually in parallel, and the interval between the inner surfaces 3a can be freely changed by contracting or stretching the central piece 2. Thus, since the interval between the inner surfaces 3a of the horizontal pieces 3 can be changed freely, the pad for packing 10 can be fitted on the end of a plate material even when the thickness of a plate material to be packed is changed. |
