PURPOSE:To accurately, safely and efficiently measure the filling rate of the material to be kneaded in the barrel of a kneading extruder on-line at the arbitrary place of the kneading extruder during operation without requiring complicated labor to perform data processing. CONSTITUTION:When the filling rate of a material 13 to be kneaded is measured in a kneading extruder wherein the material 13 to be kneaded is extruded while kneaded by the screw 12 rotating in a barrel 10, a plurality of through- holes 15, 16 are bored in the barrel 10 at arbitrary positions where the filling rate is desired to be measured to be closed by blank plugs 17 and a light pervious blank plug 19 is provided to the through-hole 16 of a measuring part and the filling rate of the material 13 to be kneaded is measured from the outside of the barrel 10 by an optical measuring means 28 through the blank plug 19. |
