622,984. Holders for discharge tubes. BRITISH MECHANICAL PRODUCTIONS Ltd., and DEAKIN, S. T. April 1, 1947, No. 8805. [Class 38 (i)] In a valve-holder 1 having contacts 6 of the rectangular construction described in Specification 618,677, and which holder may be furnished with a skirt with a detent latch of the kind described in Specification 613,634, the spigot socket 7 comprises a split tube provided opposite the division formed by the tube abutting edges with a division 12 adjacent to which are internal protuberances 14 which are engaged by the spigot to deform the socket, and thereby enhance its contact. A bulge 9 on the tube receives the spigot locating key. The socket is positioned in the body by projecting tongues 10 and rivets 17, the socket entrance being formed with a flange 15. In a modification for wafer valve-holders, Fig. 7 (not shown), the socket 25 is slightly tapered and formed from a blank, Fig. 12 (not shown), and has protuberances 28, 29 at the division slightly out of alignment so as to accommodate inaccuracies in the position of a retaining groove on the valve spigot. A rib 26 is provided on the socket to secure it in the holder the socket entrance being flanged to clamp the holder parts together. Specifications 381,393, 400,509 and 404,505 also are referred to.
