PURPOSE:To prevent an adverse influence due to deposition of carbon by providing a wire gauze containing an anti-carbon-deposition catalyst so as to cover a that pore for introducing an atmosphere to be measured and also used for burn-out which is provided at the tip of a detecting part. CONSTITUTION:This oxygen sensor is equipped with a wire gauze 20 containing an anti-carbon-deposition catalyst so that a pore 9 for introducing an atmosphere to be measured and also used for burn-out is covered at the tip of a detecting part while the wire gauze 20 is fitted into a tip. When the sensor is used in a furnace, an atmosphere in the furnace transmits through the wire gauze 20 and the internal catalyst to be introduced from the pores 9,21 of an external electrode 8 into the sensor, wherein the catalyst made of Ni is used to discompose hydrogen carbonate gas to endothermic reaction gas (mainly containing 24% CO and 29% H2). Thus an effect is provided for preventing carbon deposition due to CO in the atmosphere and decomposition of hydrogen carbonate gas. Therefore the atmosphere sucked from the pore 9 is difficult to compose, thereby reducing contamination of a ceramic filter 7 or the like. |
