<p>PURPOSE:To correctly bind a bundle of sheet materials contained in a bin tray of a sheet material sorting device independently of the thickness of the supplied sheet material. CONSTITUTION:A sheet material thickness detection sensor 27 is provided for detecting the thickness of a sheet material S which has been supplied. In accordance with thickness information from the sensor 27, a CPU serving as a controller for a whole image forming device calculates the number of sheets which can be bound by a stapler 23. The evaluated number is compared with the number of sheet materials of a bundle sorted into a bin tray 22. In accordance with the result of the comparison, the binding action of the stapler 23 is controlled.</p> |
