PURPOSE:To provide a starter wherein miniaturization can be performed and further to display absorbing action relating to also a load from an engine beyond impact absorbing ability only by an elastic unit. CONSTITUTION:A swivel plate 35 restricted by a friction plate 39 is engaged to stop turning relating to an internal gear 26, in the second cylinder chamber 29 in the internal gear 26 charged with a planet reduction gear mechanism 24. This engagement to stop turning is provided with an engaging relation by interposing an elastic unit 33 between the swivel plate 35 and the internal gear 26 and by an elastic piece 36 formed in the swivel plate 35. In this way, even when load absorbing ability by the elastic unit 33 (36) reaches a limit, by releasing restriction from the friction plate 39 of the swivel plate 35, an absorbing function is displayed relating to a larger load. |
