2-(Pyrimidyl or pyrazinyl)-imino-1,3-dithietanes <IMAGE> (I) wherein Ar is one of the radicals <IMAGE> <IMAGE> R is unsubstituted C1-C3alkyl or C1-C3alkyl which is substituted by halogen, C1-C3alkyl, C1-C3alkoxy, C1-C3alkylthio or cyano, independently of one another, or is unsubstituted or halo-substituted C3-C7alkenyl, unsubstituted or halo-substituted C3-C7alkynyl, or C3-C5cycloalkyl, C1-C3alkoxy, C1-C3alkylamino, nitro or halogen, n is a number from 0 to 3, X1 and X2 independently of each other are hydrogen or halogen, including the addition salts formed with acids of the formula H(+)X(-)in which the anion X(-)is Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), HSO4-, H2PO4-, H2PO3-, NO3-, CH3COO(-), CH2ClCOO-, CF3COO-, HOCH2COO-, CH3CH(OH)COO(-), HOOCCOO(-), HOOCCH2COO(-), HOOCCH=CHCOO(-), <IMAGE> a process for the preparation of the compounds of formula I, and novel intermediates of the preparation process are described. The compounds of formula I have nematicidal and fungicidal properties. Nematicidal and fungicidal compositions that contain at least one compound of formula I as active ingredient, and also methods of using the compounds and the compositions in the control of nematodes and fungi, are described.
