PURPOSE: To provide a light-weight passenger seat provided with a means capable of changing resistance to bending even after manufacture and the means for changing the resistance to the bending of an integrally molded seat frame. CONSTITUTION: The seat comprises fore and aft located leg parts 20 and 21 fixed to a seat track mounted on a floor and the fore and aft located support of a seat bottom part 11 for supporting a seat bottom part assembly including a cushion. The seat leg part and the seat bottom part supporting part are integrally formed with each other so as to define this seat leg part assembly 16 of one unit. The seat leg part assembly, the fore located leg part and the fore located seat bottom part support part diverge from each other to define an intermediate concavity 35 and it is provided with an integrally formed, peripherally enclosed and laterally extending through chamber formed in the area of the concavity 36 to define an energy absorbing zone. |
