PURPOSE:To accurately measure the cracking degree of a lump of coke without assistance. CONSTITUTION:As X-rays are cast to a lump of cake for every predetermined interval, the penetrating X-rays are scanned. The distribution of the X-ray absorption coefficient in each cross section is measured. The cracking degree is evaluated from the existing ratio of the X-ray absorption coefficient of a predetermined value or lower. There are air holes and cracks in the crevice of the lump of cake. Since the X-ray absorption coefficient of the crack is larger than that of the air holes, the cracking degree can be evaluated by obtaining the existing ratio of the X-ray absorption coefficient of a predetermined value or lower. In this manner, the cracking degree of the lump of cake can be accurately evaluated easily without any help. Therefore, the cake of good quality can be produced if the producing condition is changed based on the evaluating result as an index. |
