PURPOSE:To remove conductivity background of eluant by constituting a suppresser column wherein seven available sheet-like gas permeable films, ion exchanging films, etc., are laminated. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus for removing background is constituted wherein seven sheets comprising gas permeable transmission films, ion exchanging films, etc., are laminated and the laminate is vertically interposed between substrates having long grooves on surfaces in contact with the first sheet and the seventh sheet. The substrate is made of a synthetic resin porous plate filled with glass balls or the like. A mobile phase (column elluate) and removing solution flow in a slit flow path between the fourth sheet and the sixth sheet. If reflected current is made flow to electrodes in first and second external chambers (long grooves 4a,8a), ions in liquid flowing in an internal chamber (long groove 6a) are exchanged with ions in liquid flowing in the first and second external chambers via exchanging films (third and fifth sheets), finally resulting in a drop of background conductivity in ion species analysis. |
