PURPOSE:To obtain an amide by heating an oxime in the presence of a perrhenate and a strong acid or its derivative and rearranging the oxime. CONSTITUTION:An oxime is subjected to thermal rearrangement reaction in the presence of a perrhenate (e.g. tetrabutylammonium perrhenate) and a strong acid or its derivative (e.g. p-toluenesulfonic acid) in a solvent (e.g. 1,2,3- trichloropropane) at 100-150 deg.C to afford an amide. The perrhenate and the strong acid or its derivative are used in an amount of 2-20mol% based on the oxime. Cyclohexanone oxime, etc., are exemplified as the oxime compound. |
