PURPOSE:To obtain a completely new and practical iron nitride type porous sintered compact excellent in durability and adsorptivity, suitable for filter, adsorptive material, etc., and capable of adsorption using magnetism because of its superior magnetic properties. CONSTITUTION:The sintered compact is a sintered compact prepared by sintering the grains composed essentially of Fe4N or Fe16N2 or the grains composed of Fe or Fe alloy inside and composed essentially of Fe4N or Fe16N2 in the outside peripheral part and a sintered compact prepared by sintering essentially of FexN(2<=x<=3) or the grains composed of Fe or Fe alloy inside and composed essentially of FexN(2<=x<=3) in the outside peripheral part. Further, the sintered compact is an iron nitride type porous sintered compact where density is regulated to 50-85% of theoretical density. |
