PURPOSE:To shorten an execution time and to improve a service life after the excution by covering the surface of a boron carbide material with an organic compound such as tar, a pitch and a phenol resin, etc., and incorporating a specific quantity thereof into monolithic refractories. CONSTITUTION:The boron carbide material covered the surface with the organic compound such as tar, the pitch and the phenol resin, etc., is incorporated of its 0.3-12wt.%, calculated as boron carbide, into the monolithic refractory consisting of a silicon carbide material, aluminous material, carboneous material, silicic material, aluminum metal and a binder, etc. The monolithic refractory is treated on a tap shoot of a blast furnace, etc., being hardened to obtain an executed body. Thus, since the boron carbide material is compounded, the executed body superior to corrosion resistance and strength is obtained. Also since the surface of boron carbide material is coated with the organic compound, so the occurrence of such a phenomenon that B2O3 contained in the boron elutes in water and reacts with CaO in the cement and delays the hardening, is prevented. |
