PURPOSE:A specific crown ether is made to react with a chloromethylated and crosslinked polystyrene in the presence of aluminum chloride to produce the titled compound that is suitably used as an interphase transferring catalyst, metal capturing agent or separating agent because of its readily recoverable properties and no toxicity. CONSTITUTION:The reaction of (A) a crown ether of formula I (l is integer of 1-7) or formula II (m, n is 0 or integer of 1-6) with (B) a chloromethylated and crosslinked polystyrene is carried out in the presence of (C) aluminum chloride or zinc chloride in a solvens such as nitrobenzene in an inert gas atmosphere such as argon at room temperature - 100 deg.C, preferably 50-80 deg.C to produce the objective compound. The amount of component (A) is 1-10 times equivalents of the chlorine atoms in component B. Sodium and potassium salts are separated from a mixed aqueous solution containing them. |
