PURPOSE:To provide an image processing method to be executed by comparatively small throughput without being affected by an inclination at the time of input and an image retrieving system using the method. CONSTITUTION:The image retrieving system having a means 7 for extracting a feature variable from an inputted graphic pattern, a means 6 for storing the extracted feature variable in relation to the input graphic pattern and a means 9 for comparing the feature variable of the stored graphic with that of a sampled graphic and collating respective graphic patterns is characteristically provided with a preprocessing part consisting of a means 2 for storing the picture element information of the inputted graphic, a means 3 for calculating the moment feature of the graphic from the information stored in the means 2, a means 4 for determining the moving variable of the graphic from the moment feature obtained by the means 3, and a means 5 for moving the graphic only by the moving variable obtained by the means 4. |
