The invention concerns a device for holding the operation field open, comprising a hook, a tension grip and a stand, whereas the tension grip is joined disconnectably by an articulated joint with the hook engaged by the edge of patient's body in order to arrange an operation field, and seated through its passages on the stand, whereas the stand is attached slidably and in vertical position to the operating table, characterised in that the flat tension grip (7) is fitted with a horizontal spherical articulated joint (10) for the separable hook (11), whereas the socket (4) in the stand (3) mates with the tension grip (7), whereas that socket is made up of a circumferential grove (5) tipped with a flange (6) of the stand (3).<IMAGE>
