The invention relates to a chamber for reducing or eliminating noise (10) for an engine (14), including a housing (32) of substantially rectangular shape, divided into a duct part (54) and an engine part (56) which defines an engine compartment (57), and made up of several panels of material in the form of relatively thin sheets (34), and including an inlet orifice (50) and an outlet orifice (52). In the housing there are provided two inlet pipes of square cross-section, connecting the inlet orifice and the engine compartment together, and two outlet pipes (88) of square cross-section, situated outside the inlet pipes with respect to the engine, which join the outlet orifice and the engine compartment together and have a length greater than that of the inlet pipes. Several pieces of dynastic equipment (122) are provided in order to increase the noise reduction. The invention also relates to an engine equipped with this chamber. <IMAGE>
