PURPOSE:To facilitate an integration of a superconducting optical element. CONSTITUTION:A waveguide 2 and superconducting electrodes 3, 4 opposed to each other in contact with the waveguide 2, are provided, and a current flowing between superconducting electrodes is controlled by presence or absence of an electromagnetic wave to be transmitted in a waveguide 2 or variation in its intensity. An integration is facilitated, and a conversion of an opto-electric signal utilizing high speed of a light can be performed. Further, since the waveguide for transmitting the electromagnetic wave is directly used for an intermediate layer between the electrodes, its structure can be made extremely simple, and its cost can be reduced. |
