PURPOSE:To reconvert characters, which are once converted into KANA (Japanese syllabary), into Roman characters, character by character by providing the correspondence between the Roman characters and KANA for each KANA character at the time of Roman-character/KANA conversion. CONSTITUTION:The character input device is provided with an input device 11 which inputs Roman characters, a Roman-character/KANA conversion device 12 which converts the inputted Roman characters into KANA characters, and an output device 13 which outputs the converted KANA characters. A Roman- character/KANA correspondence data base 14 has a Roman-character-to-KANA conversion table and a Roman-character/KANA conversion result buffer 16 is stored with the Roman-character/KANA conversion result. The correspondence of one KANA character to Roman characters can be known by using a Roman character sectioning position data base 15, so the KANA characters can be deleted in one-character units and reconverted into the Roman characters. |
