The battery charging device cooperates with a pair of externally accessible contacts (13a,15a) of the watch housing, electrically coupled to the respective battery poles. The charging device is formed as a case (16) for the wrist watch, with a pair of contact tongues (18,20) engaging the accessible contacts (13a,15a) upon insertion of the wrist watch.Pref. the accessible contacts (13a,15a) are provided by the setting crown (15) of the watch and a diametrically opposing contact (13a), the recess in the case (16) for the watch housing having openings aligned with these contacts (13a,15a), via which the contact tongues (18,20) are brought into contact with them.
