PURPOSE:To provide a light emitting diode in which a short-circuit between an anode and a cathode is prevented and a defective ratio of the short-circuit is reduced. CONSTITUTION:In a light emitting diode in which an anode lead 2 is brought in continuity with a diode pellet 4 of a cathode lead 5 side by a bonding wire 3, the upper part of the lead 5 is coated with an insulating film 6, and only the upper part of the lead 5 is insulated by the film 6. Even if the wire 3 is deformed by mistake and the wire is brought into contact with the lead 5 due to an operational error in manufacture, etc., an anode is not short-circuited to a cathode. |
