PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic printer in which gradation is controlled by the simple constitution of a circuit and the amount of data for controlling the gradation is decreased. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal shutter 31 is arranged on a path where a laser beam outputted from a laser diode 11 reaches a polygon mirror 13. The liquid crystal shutter 31 is an optical shutter which can individually open and close plural liquid crystal cells and gradation expression of binary or multilevel by dither method is accomplished by operating the shutter 31. |
