PURPOSE:To obtain the display device of simple constitution which removes a meaningless display right after the power source is turned ON and prevents peripheral circuit from being damaged. CONSTITUTION:Write pulses WP1 outputted from a driving logic circuit 1 are supplied to a writing driving circuit 21 through a writing control logic circuit 13. The writing control logic circuit 13 inhabits the write pulses WP1 from being outputted for a predetermined period right after the power supply from a power circuit 7 is started, e.g. a two-field period according to the switching signal Ax from a switching circuit 12. Consequently, the meaningless display due to irregular data stored in a shift register in a shift register latch circuit 41 is prevented after the voltage supply and adverse influence upon a scanningside driving IC 4 and an EL panel 6 due to the application of a driving voltage based upon the irregular data can be precluded. |
