The side-strip for motor vehicles has soft elastic plastic body bearing against the body panelling, with fixing devices to the latter and accomodating a C-section trim strip. The body is also of C-section, with its flanges bearing against the panelling. One of the flanges contains an external lengthwise groove for the trip strip, there being holes in the groove at intervals passing through the flange. An off-centre holding ribn on the web of the body between the flanges is close to the flange which does not contain the trip strip, and runs in the lengthwise direction, having a hooked free edge. Each fixing device to the panelling is a one-piece plastic injection-moulding having a clamping jaw fitting round the hook-edge, a clip arm having two spring tongues passing through a hole and engaging behind the lengthwise edges of the trim strip, and a clip portion passing through a hole in the panelling. The body can be of bonded PP and rubber, and the trim strip of stainless steel or Al.
