The device has a cylindrical body (37) with a side mouthpiece (11) near the upper end. The user inhales through the mouthpiece and reduces the air pressure in the upper part below that of atmos.. This reduced pressure is transmitted through a central axial hole (32a) to a diaphragm chamber (48) at the lower end. Atmos. pressure then acts on the diaphragm (47) which presses a slider (50) upwards and releases a catch (46) which retains a piston (19). The piston is then pushed upwards by a spring (22) and drives air into a tube (8) where it mixes with powder and holds the powder in suspension. The mixt. of air and powder then flows out through the mouthpiece. ADVANTAGE - The mixing of powder and air is synchronised with the breathing of the user.
